I have always believed that our environment plays a very important role in creating our own identity. Our environment, in this case, our city ends up defining us as human beings.
In the specific case of the city of Querétaro, when I arrived 19 years ago, I was surprised by the richness of colors and textures of its downtown area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has been remarkably preserved.
I spent months walking the streets and capturing with my camera everything that caught my attention. I began to focus more and more on details of the different walls. Some in good condition, others freshly painted, others peeling, others with saturated colors etc...
After an extensive exploration, without realizing it, I already had hundreds of engaging images.
Then, I began to create diptychs, in which images from different spots could have a dialogue with each other through shapes, colors and textures. That is when this series titled Diálogos was born.
